The book, or rather autobiography, Left for Dead: My Journey Home From Everest tells the story of Beck Weathers. Weathers was part of just eight on a guide through Mount Everest. However what followed on that guide is known as the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. A huge blizzard came and many who tried to return to safety did not survive.
