Not Bothered
Joe understood that his mother meant every word. That’s simply who she was. He couldn’t be bothered right now. He needed to be there for his wife. His mother had only brought this on herself. Now she had to face the repercussions of her conduct. This was the only way to restore calm to all of their lives. This had gone much too far. His mother scowled at the two of them. She was quite angry.
