In the decades that followed, two more canals were built for the same purpose. Authorities were constructing the Canal Saint-Denis and the Canal de l’Ourcq. The latter had a width of 3.4 meters and a length of 108 kilometers. It connected Port-Aux-Perches to the Bassin de la Villette, where it met the Canal Saint-Martin.
