Mead then got in touch with the police to let them know of the incredible discovery they found inside the tank. Police officers immediately dropped by the shop to collect the gold bars and ammunition. By the end of this encounter, the only thing they left with Mead was a receipt. At that point, it was the only connection he had to the gold bars as they were taken to the UK police station to be locked away for safekeeping.
