Throughout the depth of the chamber, more discoveries were found that could provide a convincing archaeological record. The dating of the marble slab and cover was confirmed by the analysis of mortar extracted from the south wall of the tomb. This was very positive news for the Athens team and the monks who had the opportunity to supervise the work. It is unlikely that the marble slabs and the burial chamber will be reopened after the restoration.
