She has been playing volleyball since the age of seven and has spent the majority of her professional career with German club Dresdner SC. She has also competed for the Dutch national team, winning three medals in just two years: the 2015 Montreux Masters, the 2015 CEV European Championship, and the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix. Dijkema also claimed the prestigious title of “Best Setter” in the 2017 European Championship. She has started playing for the Italian team Il Bisonte Firenze.
