The fishermen were a bit far to grab onto the cubs, but they thought if they got just a little bit closer it could work. There was still a chance if they got closer the bears would attack them. For this rescue to be completed and sucessful, the two groups needed to trust each other.

Unspoken Understanding
At the last minute, something incredible happened. One fisherman looked directly into the eyes of the cub that took a bite out of the boat. They gazed at each other, and it felt like they were looking into each other’s souls. They both immediately felt like they understood and could trust each other. In a way, the young cub was probably pleading with the man for his life.
