He learnt a disciplined work ethic from them in his youth, something that has stuck with him all these years. Something he has passed down to his own daughter. When speaking of his mother’s recent passing in 2017, Selleck explained, “She’s always been there and always been very fair — even when she said, ‘Wait till your father gets home,’ which usually was for good reason.”
