Beginnings
At the age of 35, he grabbed his biggest lead role in Magnum as Thomas Magnum. This was a role that was a long time coming. After years of odd jobs in Hollywood, he finally landed his big break. He flew to Hawaii for the role but the shoot got delayed for six months due to a writer’s strike! And you know what? He worked as a handyman just to earn money during this time. Sometimes you have to do what’s necessary and that’s something Selleck wasn’t squirmy about.
