West Virginia – The Night Of The Hunter (1955)
What do you know about West Virginia? What do you want to know? If you haven’t lived there, you probably won’t know much about it. At the very least, it serves as the backdrop for the novel The Night of the Hunter. He plays a religious maniac played by Harry Powell who marries ladies for their money only to murder them with a switchblade after they have given him their money. He justifies his actions by claiming that they are for the greater good. What do you think? Doesn’t that sound intriguing to you?

There are many funny gems out there, despite the fact that many people do not take the comedy genre seriously. Check out the Bridesmaid dresses, for example. It contains a number of former Saturday Night Live cast members. This film has unquestionably given us reason to believe in chick flicks once more. Jennifer Lawrence and Melissa McCarthy virtually stole the night, as evidenced by the fact that she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Let us cross our fingers that we will see more comedic films starring women in the future, like this one.
