Joe was frightened about going to work the next day, but he had no choice. Jennifer’s composure weakened as Petunia followed her about the home all morning, shouting insults and accusations. Petunia forced Jennifer out the door with one final shove, leaving her trembling on the porch. Desperate and scared, Jennifer dialed Joe’s number, tears flowing down her cheeks as she described what had happened. Joe’s pulse raced when he heard Jennifer’s shaky voice on the other end of the phone. Anger boiled within him as he dashed home to face the carnage that awaited him.
